Absolutely terrible experience. I booked online thinking this was a real barbershop, but when I arrived, I saw a sign saying “Classes Now Enrolling.” I walked in and asked, “Is this a barbershop or a barber school?” The guy at the front said, “It’s a school, but also a barbershop.” I assumed that meant I’d get a licensed professional — I was wrong.
A young guy (who I didn’t realize was a student) came to cut my hair. I even asked, jokingly, “You’re not having students practice on me, right?” and was told, “No, no, he does the job.” But the moment I sat down, it was clear he wasn’t ready. He was fumbling around, unsure of what to do. He said he’d been there about a year. Before starting, he called over an instructor to confirm what I asked for — and the instructor got visibly irritated and snapped at him to just go ahead and do it.
At that point, I told the student to just lightly trim the sides to even them out and then stop. I didn’t feel safe continuing. I told him it was unfair to both customers and students to be put in that position without clear communication or consent.
To make it worse, as I was leaving, the same student took my phone and confirmed the payment himself. Completely unprofessional.
I absolutely do not recommend anyone spend their money here. The instructors clearly aren’t doing their job well either — judging by how one of them spoke to the student who was struggling while working on a real customer (me). This entire setup is misleading, unprofessional, and unacceptable.
Actions I’ll be taking:
Reporting the charge to my bank and requesting a refund.
Filing a complaint with the state barber licensing board.
Reporting the business to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Update (in response to the owner's reply):
Your response is completely dishonest. I clearly asked if a student would be cutting my hair or learning on me, and I was told, “No.” I was specifically told, “He does the job,” to make me believe I was being serviced by a licensed professional. This was deliberate deception, confirmed by both your staff and the individual who cut my hair — who also never disclosed that he was a student, even when asked directly.
During the haircut, I politely asked how long he had been there. He said, “About a year.” I then asked how long the business had been operating, and he replied, “About five to seven years.” I told him, “Learning is okay, but it looks like you're just learning,” and added, “I wish they wouldn’t do this to you — or to customers.” While I remained respectful, he clearly knew he was a student and still went along with pretending to be a professional — which is just as dishonest as the business itself.
Eventually, I said, “I’ll just leave and go to a different barbershop — I don’t want my hair messed up.” He responded with a quiet, “Sorry,” but then immediately made sure the $30 payment was completed, grabbing my phone and confirming the charge himself. That moment made it crystal clear: this was a coordinated, shady setup focused on taking customers’ money under false pretenses — with shady instructors, shady training, and completely unethical practices.
Now you're claiming student haircuts are $10? Then explain the $30 charge — processed through your Booksy listing. Either you're knowingly overcharging or lying publicly — both are unacceptable.
And honestly — if you had just been honest from the start, I would have gladly paid $10 directly to the student. But instead, you misled me, had a student knowingly present himself as a licensed barber, and are now trying to cover it up with false claims. That’s not just poor business — that’s unethical and predatory.
This isn’t about one student. It’s about a business that hides behind the word “school” while running a shady, deceptive operation. No transparency. No consent. No professionalism.
A place like this should not be allowed to hold a license to train students. If this is how you treat customers — and how you teach future barbers — you have no business operating as an educational institution.

Idk what these bad reviews are about I loved my experience. I ain’t had my haircut in years after going to great clips a few times and hating the experience. Erika was awesome, the staff was friendly as hell, love my haircut, and it was only $10. Chairs are comfy as hell too. It was cool seeing how engaged the instructors were with every student doing cuts and the positive vibes made this my new place to get a cut.

Great interior, classic barber chairs, good training environment. Men haircut $10 (April, 2025) and tip generously. Kalan at 3 months gave a better haircut with help from the instructor then I usually get. Will go back again and again.
