In the School's Words

The Aveda Institute Columbus opened in February of 2004 and is located right in the heart of the Ohio State University district. The facilities and equipment provided by the Aveda Institute Columbus emulate a true salon and spa setting. Our students receive tremendous hands-on experience, making a smooth transition from the Institute to the workplace.

The Institute operates in over 13,000 square feet of space. On our first floor we have a 750 square foot Aveda Environmental Lifestyle Store and sensory experience area, as well as over 4,000 square feet devoted to our cosmetology clinic. Our cosmetology clinic includes room for 60 hair stations and a combination of 4 luxury shampoo beds and 4 traditional shampoo bowls. The lower level contains a 3,500 square foot spa clinic which includes a 7-station facial clinic, a waxing area, and a 6-station nail spa. Our 4 classrooms are on the second level along with the student lounge, student locker areas and our administrative offices.

Program Offerings

The Aveda Institute Columbus was founded to create the most successful entrepreneurs in the beauty and skin care industry. Our curriculum entails practical knowledge gained from today's most successful masters in hair care, skin care, makeup, total body care and retail services.

Cosmetology

Express your creativity and talent in hair, skin and nail care and makeup application. Our cosmetology course incorporates extensive hands-on learning to provide you a complete understanding of beauty and wellness. Upon completion, you will be ready to succeed as a licensed cosmetologist.

Esthiology

Prepare for an exciting future in skin care with Aveda Institute Columbus. Our Esthiology curriculum provides skin care, body care and makeup training with an emphasis on using pure flower and plant essences in treatments. Upon completion, you will be ready to succeed as a licensed esthetician.

Nail Esthetics

The Nail Esthetics program is offered complimentary to all students enrolled in the Esthiology program. The curriculum consists of classroom and hands-on nail care training combined with manager's training that covers advanced techniques. Students in the Nail Esthetics program will receive the education necessary to become licensed as Managing Manicurists.
