I was excited to try this place after my long-term esthetician moved away, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The service was disjointed—there was no explanation of the process, multiple start and stops from getting my history midway through instead of at the start or stepping away repeatedly - It was impossible to relax. The instructor checked in once to verify things were being explained, and still were not really after. A key treatment mentioned as included in the service also wasn’t done. The student was kind but felt very inexperienced, and I left feeling like I had paid $60 to be practiced on rather than receiving a semi professional service. Afterwards, I found clay mask under my nose, exfoliating granules on my neck, and a comment was made on a scar I’m super self-conscious about during the service. I ended up going home having to rewash my face from all of the leftover product. Overall, I felt like I wasted time and money. If this is a learning environment, clearer communication and better supervision are needed. Please don’t start and stop services repeatedly, explain what’s happening, and avoid commenting on clients’ scars/imperfections I do realize maybe I just got someone new or not the greatest fit, but id rather pay full price to get a professional experience instead of feeling like Im being practiced on.

I have been going to Institute of Cosmetology for over 30 years. Everything is professional, students are well informed and you get great skin care at an affordable price. I just wish they were open on Saturdays.

I have enjoyed facials for 15 years at this place in Houston. I would give it a 5 star plus almost every time I go which is once a month. The only thing I would suggest is softer terrycloth towels and warm the cold creams that they use to take off makeup. I had an awesome experience yesterday and one reason was it was quiet with soft music and I feel asleep. Great experience again yesterday and new treatments available. Get in on the 1/2 price for October. You will never be disappointed. Please! talk in a low voice as most of us are there for relaxation and not just facials.
