I took my two daughters (ages 10 and 16) to the salon Monday for cuts and color. I would like to start positive by saying that most of the people were friendly and one of the managers was very helpful with fixing my youngest daughter's hair. I also appreciated the fact that the student was honest about not knowing what to do and asking the instructor for help.
Now for the rest of our experience: They are understaffed, too few instructors to adequately monitor and help students. The music playing in the studio had cussing and explicit language in it, which is not fun to listen to as an adult, never mind having my children exposed to that. During one of the songs, the student sitting directly in front of my youngest daughter was gyrating and grinding to the song, very sensually. She also had a loud discussion with one of the other students about how she was throwing a Playboy themed lingerie party that weekend. As for the haircut, one side is a little longer than the other and I had to cut some stray hairs that got missed.
Daughter 2: She asked for balayage highlights so that her hair at the top remained her natural light brown color, so that as it grows it will not show extreme contrast in the roots. The instructor told the student what to do and then left, rarely checking on the student. Another instructor came over to see how they were doing after they had already bleached the top of her hair, not knowing what my daughter had requested, so she thought it was fine. Another student offered to help with the foil and they talked about how they didn't know what they were doing, the main girl saying she had never done highlights before. My daughter ended up with the top of her head fully bleach blonde and darker as it goes down. It took 4.5 hours just to do the top and they ran out of time (past closing hours), so the rest of her head wasn't finished. Her dark roots are showing. Also, it took 3 people to trim her hair and get the face framing layers right. The back bottom layers look chopped...don't blend. The main student took off a lot more hair than she had requested. We were charged $80 for her dye and cut when professionals have quoted $90-110 for the highlights alone. Now we are paying another $80 just to fix the dye, so we definitely didn't save money.
We watched as one client cried from her dye being done incorrectly and another chewing out the front desk because she said they didn't finish her hair and she didn't want to pay until they did. I've called two days in a row requesting an instructor to call me back to arrange fixing my daughter's hair. They still haven't returned my calls.

This is my second visit for full highlights. They did an amazing job, and I absolutely love my hair! A huge thank you to Leyah H. and Haleigh W. — you both are fantastic! Also, a shoutout to GeeGee Cunningham for guiding the girls. You all make a great team.

If it wasn't for Mariah I would NEVER EVER come back to this place!!! She does such a good job on my hair, its such a shame that it doesn't have to do with anything to do with this school. I never see a single teacher in sight every single time I'm here, as a matter of fact the catchphrase of my entire last appointment was "where is Tiff" which was the teacher who literally disappeared for over an hour at a time MULTIPLE times. Which doesn't feel very great when youre at a school with students who need supervision and help, luckily Mariah is such a good future stylist that I didnt have worry too much. The only teacher I saw for over 30 students was 1 guy, I think his name was Stephan. There was no soap in the bathroom, which is just disgusting. When she went to shampoo my hair for the first time there was absolutely no hot water, its not very relaxing when the water is ice cold and my neck hurt so much in the bowls. Also, there was not 1 single clean dry towel in the whole place, but I guess I was lucky I at least had a clean SOAKING WET towel to dry my hair with. So unprofessional. At the end my hair looked great, but the teacher on staff tried to charge me for 3 extra bowls of color that I did not get, which was $30! Thankfully Mariah had my back and the person up front i think she was named was Melissa, didnt charge me for it. To be charging $28,000 for 1 single students tuition, this place needs better maintenance and teachers who are actually dedicated to teaching their students how to be good professionals. Its honestly disgusting how they treat this place and their students. Do better.
