Literally might be THE BEST haircut I ever got. The student was named Lina and she was so kind and attentive. The teacher was around all the time and he cut my bangs. I was skeptical to go but I’ll for sure be coming back soon. 10/10!!!

I’ve never actually received any service due to constant rescheduling. Initially, the person who rescheduled me twice was very unprofessional. When they needed to change the appointment, they wouldn’t offer alternative dates — I had to suggest them myself. They would just say you need to reschedule. Okay well then say when you have the next opening? They’d respond with “you’re booked,” mention that they don’t send confirmations, and abruptly hang up without a simple “thank you” or “have a good day,” which felt very awkward and dismissive.
I went in today, but this marks the third time I’ve been rescheduled. When I arrived, I was told they had left a voicemail yesterday because they had a class today. However, I received no missed calls or voicemails, so that was news to me. I’m also confused why I was scheduled for a Sunday if they already had a class planned. The whole experience has been frustrating and poorly handled. I hope the students and front desk specialists get customer service and scheduling training because this place is not it.

Only leaving this review so other students can prepare before spending their money and I’ve been sitting on this for about a year. I graduated from here under their weekend program and to be honest it wasn’t the experience they advertised or promised. A lot of what I got out of it was stuff I took upon myself to learn and used the hands on experience with clients to practice things I learned online. The weekend classes are not prioritized or even really cared about. Our instructors were constantly changing and seemed to be fillers that were not educated in the “arrojo techniques” we were promised to learn. Jenn was fantastic and taught what she could but was stretched too thin because of a lack of support. She was teaching multiple levels of students, dealing with clients, and working the front desk all at the same time when other teachers came and went. They try to say they set themselves apart from other schools because they prepare you to work behind the chair. That really wasn’t the case. Makeup hour students were always pulled from our class because it was known our class was not going to be taught anything. We were left on the floor for 30min- 1hour with no direction man times. Students attended makeup hours during the week and for the first time received an instructors undivided attention and learned so much more. Day time instructors were able to tell us what we were during right or wrong because they took the time to watch us. We had to learn how to do graduated bob and pixie cut and other things from YouTube, which is disappointing when we picked Arrojo based off of his cutting techniques and we weren’t being thoroughly taught. Instructors either seem like they don’t want to be there or are more concerned with clients than our education. Despite the new law, about teaching all hair types, we had a practical on a curly diffuse without ever learning how to do it. We have not learned anything about styling all textures of hair. When we learned about different types of braiding, we each taught each other the type of braids we individually knew because the instructor didn’t know how to braid. Also, I regret not saying anything to the director at the time but my class brought our concerns to two different instructors, one told us to speak up and the other was pissed that we even suggested doing that. I’m writing this to not discourage students from attending Arrojo but to consider being a weekday daytime student and not part time student. If you have to go part time I would choose a different school.
