Missouri is one of several states that does not have any licensing standards for laser technicians. Laser hair removal is listed as a medical procedure, so it must be done under the direct supervision of a physician. The state of Missouri requires that the supervising physician remain on-site during all laser hair removal procedures. You may complete a laser training program or get on-the-job training.
When you get started in laser technology, you may spend quite a bit of time learning about client consultations, client consent, sanitation, and hygiene. Since lasers can be fairly dangerous in the wrong hands, you must know how to store and clean them properly. Furthermore, you may spend many hours working with a laser to develop your confidence with this tool.
