LASER TRAINING - SOUTH DAKOTA

Laser Training
IN
South Dakota

Laser hair removal is one of the most rapidly growing specialties in the United States. This is partially because it is one of the oldest types of permanent hair removal and people are more trusting of its results. Also, due to how long this procedure has been around, it is much more affordable than hair removal procedures that use other types of technology.

What does this mean for you? Whether you are a new or aspiring beauty professional, South Dakota laser training courses may give you the leg up you need to get ahead in this industry. With the laser practice and classroom theory you get, you may quickly become an efficient, trustworthy hair removal professional.

Another requirement to keep in mind is the direct supervision requirement set out by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners. They require all laser hair removal facilities to have a medical director. The medical director must be on-site when procedures are being done.

Education Details

Compared to many other beauty specialties, laser training can be completed quickly. Depending on the school you choose, you may finish your training in just a couple of weeks. Some even allow you to become certified in just five days. Shorter and longer programs can be appropriate options, as long as they cover the theory of laser hair removal and give you plenty of hands-on experience.

The list below covers some of the topics you should learn about as a laser technician student:

  • Types of lasers
  • Hair types and skin types
  • Laser techniques for different client needs
  • Laser safety and precautions
  • Pre-treatment consultation
  • Post-treatment observation
  • Complications and skin reactions
  • Contraindications to laser hair removal

Practical experience can be provided in many different ways. As a new student, you may observe your instructor during a procedure, watch other students do laser hair removal, or simply get comfortable holding the laser. As you progress, you may assist or lead during hair removal procedures.
