TN nail tech programs should prepare you to get your license after graduation. You must pay $140 to the Tennessee Division of Regulatory Boards and sign up to take your licensing exams. After your application is approved and you pass both exams, you can receive your initial license!

The state of Tennessee requires you to spend at least 600 hours on your education, which means that you may be able to earn your license in a matter of months. You must pay a $25 late fee if your application is received after the expiration date. Cosmetology and barber instructors must complete 16 approved CEUs every two years. There are currently no continuing education requirements for beauty practitioners.
