The Missouri Division of Professional Registration Board of Therapeutic Massage administers the licensing process for massage therapists in the state. Potential licensees must complete at least 500 hours of coursework at an approved massage therapy school in Missouri or document 500 hours of mentorship or apprenticeship with an approved provider in the state. They must pass one of five national certification exams: the NCETMB, the NCETM, the MBLEx, the Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT) exam, or the American Medical Massage Association exam. Veterans in Missouri may be eligible for reimbursement of their licensing examination fees.
