Esthetician Schools Near Burlington / Plattsburgh

If you want to become an esthetician in Vermont or New York, Burlington and Plattsburgh may be great places to begin. Just a 20-minute ferry ride from one another, both towns have numerous outdoor activities—and being outdoors can wreak havoc on the skin. Luckily, estheticians like you can cleanse people's skin and advise them about issues before they progress.

In 2019, Vermont estheticians earned a median annual salary of $34,090 ($16.39 per hour), and the state expects jobs to grow by 3% between 2016 and 2026. New York expects the number of jobs to grow by 20% in that same time frame, and their estheticians earned a mean salary of $41,660 ($20.03) that same year.

To earn your esthetician license in Vermont, you need to complete 600 hours of training or 800 hours of an apprenticeship and pass two exams. New York has the same requirements, minus the apprenticeship option. (Check with each state's board of cosmetology to see if your license can transfer from one place to the other.) If you go the training route, the Burlington and Plattsburgh area schools below all provide the necessary training.
