State License Requirements

By the time you graduate, you should be prepared for the process of earning a Delaware esthetics license. The Delaware Board of Cosmetology and Barbering requires all applicants to have at least 600 hours of conventional training or 1200 hours of apprenticeship training. You must submit your application, along with a $175 testing fee, and pass both your written test and your skills test.

The renewal fee is the same as the original licensing fee. Barbers, nail technicians, electrologists, instructors, and estheticians must renew their licenses by March 31 of even-numbered years. Cosmetologists must renew their licenses by October 31 of even-numbered years. Delaware does not currently require continuing education hours to renew your license.
