In the State of Washington, you can find electrology schools that meet the national standards for professionals, while understanding your local laws and regulations. Make sure to choose a program that offers a curriculum that includes training in all three modalities: single needle, multiple needle, and thermolysis. You should also complete learning outcomes to help you execute the variables (probes, intensity, timing and depth) appropriately.

Washington State does not regulate the field of electrology or offer any kind of licensure in this area. Although, you will have to pass the American Electrology Association certification exam. This is how you prove you have the skills to provide quality work for clients. The cost of the exam is $325 if you are not a member, and $275 if you already are. Your AEA CPE certification expires after five years. The AEA also offers beneficial continuing education courses that can keep you current on the latest regulations and best practices.
