Teacher Training

The world of beauty and fashion is alive and well in Kentucky. Look no further than the award-winning House of Beauty Salon & Spa for a stellar example. But you probably know that already, if you currently work in one of the related professions, such as hair, nails, barbering or esthetics. Do you remember your first teacher? We’d bet they completed their cosmetology teacher requirements from a beauty school approved by the state. And you can too, if your goal is to teach the next generation of beauty professionals in Kentucky.

So, how do we fit into this crazy world of beauty? We are a passionate group who cares about style, fashion, nails, skin care – and who doesn’t love a massage? That’s why we work tirelessly to help students in all 50 states, plus D.C., find beauty school programs that align with their goals. If you need the highlights of what to expect, glance down to our easy facts. If you want to go ahead and view your local and state cosmetology school listings, we have that pretty little search box up top, and a list you can contact schools from directly below.

Like many states, Kentucky does not have an official cosmetology instructor license; so you will need to go through their regular cosmetology licensure process. Once complete, you must hold your license for 1,000 training hours and pass instructor exams. You are not required to take continuing education courses to maintain your license. However, you are expected to renew your license every year during the month of July, by the last day of the month. The renewal fee is $20, and processed by the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology.
